I am a Professor of evolutionary genetics at the Centre for Palaeogenetics in Department of Zoology at Stockholm University.
My work on the MAMBA project include coordination of ancient DNA work.
My scientific research interests are focused on the understanding the evolutinary history of vertebrates, including the study of speciation, extinction and how past environments and human activity impactes populations of wild animals.
I led the group that sequenced the first complete woolly mammoth genome, as well as the first DNA from samples more than 1 million years old.
